Experience

Throughout many years in the business, the founders of Macroword have translated and managed countless words and projects in various fields, with a focus on software localization, but also encompassing websites, marketing material, and areas such as the financial, automotive, hardware, communications, database, and ERP sectors. Between 1988 and 1990, we worked as full time contractors for Lotus Development Corporation, as Spanish Editors in their localization department. Since then, we have translated and managed most of the Spanish editions of their products. These are some of the highlights:

Lotus 1-2-3 R2.x and R3 for MS-DOS
Freelance Graphics for MS-DOS
Lotus Symphony for MS-DOS
Lotus 1-2-3 G, the first GUI version of 1-2-3 for OS/2 (1990).

All Spanish versions of Lotus Notes/Domino:
From Lotus Notes 2.4, its first localized release back in 1991, to the 2013 release of Lotus Notes/Domino 9.0, Lotus Development Corporation and later Lotus Software (its new brand after its acquisition by IBM in 1995) have entrusted us with the localization of every single version of their flagship software product. We are proud of their choice and we consider Notes/Domino part of our family. In 1998, when Lotus was in the midst of developing Lotus Notes Release 5, we were asked to provide localization services for 250,000 words of software and 1,000,000 words of documentation. We accepted the challenge and our customer received a high quality result that shipped simultaneously with the English release.
